Asymmetric pixel confusion algorithm for images based on RSA and Arnold transform

Xiao-ling Huang, You-xia Dong, Kai-xin Jiao, Guo-dong Ye,guodongye@hotmail.com

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2020, Volume 21, Issue 12,   Pages 1671-1814 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000241

Abstract: We propose a new asymmetric algorithm for images based on the public-key cryptosystem and . First, the RSA is used to generate two groups of Arnold transform parameters to address the problem of symmetrical distribution of parameters. Second, the image is divided into blocks, and the first group of parameters is used to perform Arnold confusion on each sub-block. Then, the second group of parameters is used to perform Arnold confusion on the entire image. The image correlation is thereby fully weakened, and the degree and effect are further enhanced. The experimental results show that the proposed image algorithm has better confusion effect than the classical based confusion and the row-column exchange based confusion. Specifically, the values of gray difference are close to one. In addition, the security of the new confusion operation is dependent on RSA, and it can act as one part of a confusion-substitution structure in a cipher.

Public key based bidirectional shadow image authentication without pixel expansion in image secret sharing Research Article

Xuehu YAN, Longlong LI, Jia CHEN, Lei SUN,publictiger@126.com

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 1,   Pages 88-103 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200118

Abstract: (ISS) is gaining popularity due to the importance of digital images and its wide application to cloud-based distributed storage and multiparty secure computing. generally includes shadow image detection and identification, and plays an important role in ISS. However, traditional dealer-participatory methods, which suffer from significant or storing auxiliary information, authenticate the shadow image mainly during the decoding phase, also known as unidirectional authentication. The authentication of the shadow image in the distributing (encoding) phase is also important for the participant. In this study, we introduce a based bidirectional method in ISS without for a (k,n) threshold. When the dealer distributes each shadow image to a corresponding participant, the participant can authenticate the received shadow image with his/her private key. In the decoding phase, the dealer can authenticate each received shadow image with a secret key; in addition, the dealer can losslessly decode the secret image with any k or more shadow images. The proposed method is validated using theoretical analyses, illustrations, and comparisons.

Catalytic activity of manganese oxide supported on alumina in the synthesis of quinoxalines

Rekha M., H. Kathyayini, N. Nagaraju

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2013, Volume 7, Issue 4,   Pages 415-421 doi: 10.1007/s11705-013-1360-3

Abstract: Two catalysts, alumina and manganese oxide supported on alumina, have been prepared by calcination and precipitation-impregnation methods, respectively. The catalysts are characterised by the following techniques: Brunner-Emmett-Teller-N adsorption-desorption for surface area, temperature programmed desorption of NH and -butyl amine back titration methods for surface acidity, powder X-ray diffraction for textural properties, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy for the anionic radicals. The catalytic activity has been determined under heterogeneous conditions in the condensation reaction between -phenylenediamine and benzil. The product purity is checked by thin-layer chromatography and melting point. The products are also analysed by LC-MS and H-NMR techniques. The yields of the products have been found to be good and catalysts exhibited excellent recyclability. The effect of changing the reaction parameters such as temperature, reaction time, amount of the catalyst, nature of solvent and molar ratio of reactants on the yield of the product has been studied. The surface acidity of the catalysts plays an important role in activating the reaction.
